Tong Wah Chan member of the Harrogate Racquets Table Tennis Junior Team took the runners up spot in the Buxton Uxbridge 1 * (Staffordshire) Tournament Under 11's on Sunday 19th February 2012. On the way to the finals he overcame higher ranked players including Tom Mckintosh (South Yorkshire and winner of the Keighley 2* Under 11's Tournament on the 4th February 2012). In the final, Tong Wah faced James Smith (Kent) who is England's highest ranking Under 11 player. In the final, Tong Wah put up a spirited display but eventually was overwhelmed by the England Number 1!

Really sorry to hear of the death of Alex Emmett.
I know him through Table Tennis,where he played Harrogate Grammar School against the St John Fisher "C" team
that I coach this season. I was impressed by his attitude and pleasant personality.He will be missed by Table Tennis
players in the area. My condolences to his family and friends.
